DVD's are very durable, however, you should take some basic precautions and exercise some care and handling to help maintain the integrity of the DVD.

Only handle the DVD by its outer edge to prevent fingerprints. When not in use, keep the DVD inside its protective cover.

Here is a list of handy tips to follow to make sure the DVD has a long life:
	Always store the DVD in its protective sleeve when not in use.
	Do not leave the DVD in direct sunlight.
	To clean the disc, make sure to use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean both sides of the DVD. Wipe in a straight line from the center of the disc to the outer edge.
	Never wipe the DVD in a circular motion.
	Make certain the DVD is seated properly in the DVD player's tray before closing the tray door.
	When returning your movie, always place one disc per side of the sleeve.
	Do not "double-up" discs on one side of the sleeve because it can scratch the discs.
