| Frequently Asked Questions |
| Q |
How many hours of video can you put on one DVD?
|
| A |
It is possible to put up to two hours onto one DVD, however the highest video quality is obtained by keeping the DVD to 80 minutes or less. The price concious shopper will have to weigh the costs vs. quality tradeoffs along with the content of the tape in order to make a decision. When combining 20 and 30 minute tapes, lengths between one and two hours, such as 90 minutes, are also options.
Certain types of video seem to be less susceptible to the compression artifacts that are
sometimes visible in the two hour DVD's. We are currently doing more research on
identifying this type of video, and will share our findings when it is available. Feel
free to contact us if you would like to talk to us about this issue.

| Q |
Why can you only put 2 hours of video on a DVD but Hollywood studios get 3 to 4 hours of content on a DVD?
|
| A |
Hollywood studios and anyone willing to order discs in quantities of 1000’s, can have their DVD’s stamped out on dual-layer
DVD-Video discs. For single or small quantity runs, the DVD writers and formats available support only single layer discs.
This gives the Hollywood studios twice as much space to work with, not to mention their multi-million dollar video compression
hardware.

For larger jobs the time will vary (please call us for an estimate).
Finally, the time will also vary depending on how many other jobs we are working on at the time.
