User specified title, subtitle and date range
A title of up to 35 characters can be specified for each DVD. The title may have a common theme among a group of videos being converted, such as " Family Video." A subtitle of up to 60 characters can be specified for each DVD. The subtitle will usually contain more specific information about what is on the particular DVD, such as "California Vacation" or "Johnny’s Fifth Birthday." A date or date range up to 23 characters long can be specified. The 23 characters are sufficient to specify a date range in the following format "12/12/2002 - 1/31/2003."
Chapters beginning at natural scene starts or arbitrarily specified
You may choose to let us set chapter points based on actual scene starts with additional chapter points arbitrarily inserted for long scenes. (i.e. If your tape is one hour of a single scene as a result of setting your camcorder on a tripod and running it for an hour, your DVD should contain one chapter for the start of the scene plus additional chapter points added for your convenience throughout the DVD.) A distinction is maintained between the natural scene breaks and arbitrarily added chapter points, in the presentation of chapter thumbnails and the chapter list. Alternatively, you may choose to specify the number of evenly spaced chapter to divide the content into. If this option is chosen, chapter starting points will be chosen without regard to video content.
DVD packaging:
  • Full color thumbnail images on a standard black plastic DVD case
Up to 54 high-resolution color thumbnail images of the actual DVD chapter points will be printed on
glossy paper along with the user specified title, subtitle, date and then inserted under the clear
        plastic cover.

  • Printout with chapter duration and time offsets
An insert will be included with chapter duration and time offsets as well as a space provided for
        handwritten notes about each chapter.

  • Color disc label
The disc will come with a color label with user specified title, subtitle, date range, and running time.
  • DVD menus:
  • Main menu with play and scene selection buttons
This menu allows you to directly start playing the video or go select a specific chapter to play.

  • Chapter selection menus with up to 54 chapter thumbnails
Intuitive and easy to navigate scene selection menus allow you to jump directly from one scene
menu page to another. They also allow you to cursor through the entire set of chapter thumbnails,
including going from one page to the next, by repeatedly pressing the right cursor key.
  • Guaranteed audio video synchronization even for old tapes
A time base corrector is used to ensure that the audio and video will be synchronized even at the end of a two-hour tape.*
    Variable bit rate video encoding
Variable bit rate encoding allows the video encoder to use less bits when encoding sections of the video that are easy to compress. This allows it to use more bits for sections of the video that are harder to compress resulting in better video quality than would otherwise be possible with a constant bit rate encoder.
    Dolby Digital (AC3) audio encoding
This is the same audio encoding algorithm used for most movies on DVD. However, in this case it will be only be two channel instead of five or seven channel surround sound since only two channels are available in the stereo source.
    * In the rare case that lip synchronization is not possible due to problems with the video tape, the customer is entitled to a refund based on the Satisfaction Guarantee if they choose not to keep the DVD as is.
